DORAMEF is a combination of Drotaverine Hydrochloride (a smooth muscle relaxant) and Mefenamic Acid (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). This dual-action formulation is widely prescribed for spasmodic pain, especially abdominal, menstrual, and colicky pain. It offers fast, targeted relief by reducing both pain and muscle spasms simultaneously.

• Drotaverine Hydrochloride IP – 80 mg
• Mefenamic Acid IP – 250 mg

🔍 Indications / Uses:

• Dysmenorrhea (Menstrual cramps)
• Renal colic
• Biliary colic
• Gastrointestinal spasms
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• Abdominal pain due to uterine or intestinal spasm
• Post-operative or post-traumatic pain with spasm

⚙️ Mechanism of Action:
Drotaverine: A direct-acting smooth muscle relaxant that inhibits phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4), relieving muscle spasm without affecting normal peristalsis.

Mefenamic Acid: An NSAID that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation.
